Born in Marianna, Florida in 1907 into a family
of pianists, Billie Pierce found fame playing with
her husband, trumpeter De De Pierce.
Together they gained attention as the house band
at Luthjen's Dance Hall in New Orleans from the
1930s until the 1950s.
In celebration of Billie's life and career we
present a traditional jazz anthem recorded
live at Luthjen's in 1954.
