Sidney Bechet Day (continues)‏

A phenomenal instrumentalist Sidney Bechet
never received the attention he deserved as
a jazz artist in the United States.

As employment opportunities dried up during
the late '40s it seemed he that had lost his
audience for good.

But everything changed with an invitation to
the Persian "Salle Pleyel" Jazz Festival.

In France he became an overnight sensation
embarking on the most successful period of
his lengthy career.
