The early 1960s would bring great change
to the style of John Coltrane.
Growing past his straight jazz period he shuffled
through a number of different sidemen including
Billy Higgins, Steve Kuhn, Reggie Workman, and
Eric Dolphy before achieving the optimal line up
for his "Classic Quartet" in 1962.
Here Coltrane's quartet are featured during
a TV appearance that year.
